GMA is back in Albay
Her Excellency Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is back in Albay to grace Oas town fiesta where she delivered a speech about the government plans in the province’ largest rice surplus generating town. She reiterated the friendship that Macapagal and Ricarte families have long before she became a person. She even announced that this is her way of celebrating her father’s death anniversary, which was just the other day. Imagine, the President all the way from Manila to celebrate something very important in a local fiesta?
It was afterall a good sign for all the Albayanos because the President even allocated 15M budget that will build necessary additional irrigations. She also ensure that the Oas town will have farm-to-market road in the next days as her form of thanking the industrious farmers who toiled more than enough rice supply. I just then knew that Oas is the only town in Albay which is not affected with the current crisis in rice! It was the first time also that I get to know about the Family Card Access, an identification given to families who can buy NFA rice in as low as 18.25php.
She even called for the province’ support to vote for Mayon in the recent Wonder’s of the World. This will surely bring tourists, and the more tourism affairs the more income is generated. Anyway, Mayon is one of the real bests in the world so why shouldn’t we support our own scenic pride?
Now, we are being given just the right attention, and this is just fair because for so long we were never given any chance to boom through the help of our elected Bicolano politicians. Thanks God Governor Joey Sarte salceda was elected! If not, what fate do we have here in Albay?
