It is okay to come to your husband’s defenses even if he is clearly driving under the influence of liquor, but bullying an officer is definitely not smart, Reese. Still, we should give the girl mad props for publicly apologizing on ‘acting like a diva’ so fast. This should be a good example to all celebrities. None of you is above the law and bullying is no longer accepted in this modern world.

So what’s up with Jim Toth and Reese Witherspoon after the Friday arrest? You’ll think that the two would lie low but they are back to business. Jim is back at CAA and Reese is all smiles wherever she goes. Everybody has to move on, so do they yeah?

Moms would not want their kids stripped off their dad’s name but not in the case of Kris Aquino. In fact, she is really filed a motion that will take the Yap off from their only son. What could have fueled this desire? Is it part of the plan of securing the family name for baby James political career or pure greed?

Remembering that Kris Aquino is among the most influential showbiz personality today and how she prepped up his brother to win the presidency might have gotten into her head. She might have realized how influential their family name had been and still is. His brother at 50, still a bachelor, and has never been heard of to do something extraordinary throughout his political career is now Pnoy—thanks to Kris and the legacy of being born an Aquino. He might not marry and surrounded with married sisters, there’s no one else to bear the family’s name. If the courts decide to favor Kris, baby James might be in what his uncle always says ‘matuwid na daan’ (right path). Clever!

Another reason I can think of is pure greed. Remember how Kris Aquino damaged the political and showbiz career of her ex-lover Joey Marquez? She appeared on tv, crying and looking helpless after Marquez left her. She claimed that Marquez infected her with a sexually transmitted disease (STD), which drama-loving Filipinos that we are, accepted and sided with her. Even not proven, this has sent Marquez to bonkers. Now, she wanted to do it all again—by coming forward and announcing to the public how James had been unfaithful in their marriage. Seeing James unaffected, she now wants to hurt the ego of his ex-husband by taking off his last name from their son and claiming their marriage is null. Ill advised by her lawyers or being a brat?

First time in the history of Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) that the big winner will be chosen from a big group of 5! From 26 housemates from two different houses, the four-month running reality show is finally approaching its big night. On Saturday, the big winner will be crowned and hopefully become a promising addition to the world of glamour and fame. Will it be Melai, Tibo, Paul Jake, Johan, or Jason? The people will decide, we will decide.

People will have their own bet for big winner like I do. For four months, I probably watched the reality show for at least two months and I found Melai to be really entertaining. During the last days though, she went mushy when Jason started courting her. She also went limp during the last tasks in the house. But during the competition for the big winner slot, she again proved to be the strong lady amidst all conditions that a Filipina is known for. She definitely is a good choice for a winner.

But then, I also admired Tibo for his resourcefulness and industriousness. What worries me is that he seems to have potential in back fighting his friends, especially Melai. It sends doubt to his truthfulness as if he is doing it to spite his closest rival to stardom.

Paul Jake, though I find him too proud is also a good choice. He is the only person who got the leadership and the balls to stand up for what he believes. He copes well and is always at the top of the situation.

Johan is a cutie but has no leadership.

Finally, dirty and smelly looker Jason. He must be a good choice but has very little patience and courage in proving his worth.

So who do you think is the best choice?

francis_magalonaThe Philippine showbiz industry was surprised by the passing of one of its institutions, Master Rapper Francis Magalona. Also known as Kiko, Francis suffered from complications of leukemia and was suppose to undergo marrow transplant from her donating sister. The actor’s death was announced at Eat Bulaga where he is a mainstay host. Kiko was 44 and turning 45 this October 4. He left 8 kids (2 being step-kids) to her courageous wife Pia Arroyo-Magalona whom he met and married in 1985 through his friend Richard Gomez. They met in a disco house owned by the late film director Ishmael Bernal.

Kiko was a loyal man to his career and family as well. Unlike most of his batch mates and friends in the industry who have gone through broken marriages, he and his wife Pia had surpassed them all. His death was really unexpected but his family showed strong and intact in this hard time. A close friend and showbiz buddy, Vice-Mayor to Quezon City Herbert Bautista vowed to take care of the late master rapper kids until needed. Herbert is himself remained single all this time and this act is indeed humbling and stunning. All other friends and close showbiz buds extended help and aid in any way possible to Kiko’s bereaved family.

The late master rapper will continue to be an inspiration to the Filipino youth. In his time, he contributed so much to the industry. Some of which were:

journey-bandFind March 14 on your calendars and clear it from any task or ‘gimik’ to give way to our very own Arnel Pineda and the Journey band! Yes, they will be here days before their concert here in Manila so you can still watch out for all local televisions and radio stations who will surely be airing them the soonest they get their hands and eyes on the group. All concert tickets will also be available via ticketnet at 3,605 VIP, 2,575 Gold, 1,545 Silver, and 515 Bronze. The concert will be held at the Concert Grounds of Mall of Asia.

Two things will surely happen here: Journey, especially Arnel Pineda will stir crowd and the Mall of Asia will get all the advertisement. But who cares who gets what and which? What is important, we are getting a load of artists and entertainments every now and then. That only means that the Philippines are becoming a safe place for all these great artists and performers from around the world. And of course, Filipino talent is also making a great appeal to big stars and bands just like the humbling story of Arnel Pineda: once a fan turned to be the main act of his fave band!
arnel-pineda-journey
I remember Journey had been in the country last year and that one was very successful. This time, Arnel Pineda and his band will have to prove their worth through the results of tickets bought. Usually, that is how it is going to be. The first time will be crowd stirring and will prove to be a success then the repeat will be the justification. This one though will be tough as Eraserheads will also be doing their own concert on that same date. Although of different genre, E-heads have been one of the most popular bands in the Philippines. Their last concert has resulted to Ely’s, the lead vocalist, near death hospitalization. So this time, it is going to be a lot more dramatic.

Anyway, let us wait and see who gets the bigger crowd….
